The Casting Process
Below is a series of photos showing the process to create a
bronze goblet using the lost wax molding technique. Our sundials are cast in a
similar manner except instead of a wax mold being made that melts away during
the casting, a two sided impression is made into sand which creates the chamber
for the molten brass to be poured. In both techniques the sand/clay is broken
away after cooling and the mold cleaned and finished.
