Free Shipping:  Great news. If your order is shipping to 48 contiguous United States, it ships for free. This is not a special deal for the holidays, it’s a year round policy. We also offer free shipping on most sundials to Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico. See below for international orders.

How Do We Ship?
We use UPS and USPS Priority Mail for most shipments, but may occasionally use FedEx. Shipments ship from our Madison, WI warehouse, however some pedestal bases ship directly from the manufacturer in Peoria, IL. You will receive tracking information when your order ships. If you order a sundial and pedestal your order may be sent in two shipments. In those situations you will receive two separate tracking numbers.

For shipments via UPS & Fedex, we need a physical address as these carriers do not ship to PO Boxes.

Turnaround Time?
Orders ship within 48 hours. Tracking information will be sent upon shipping

Gift Orders:
All of our horizontal (flat shaped) sundials are packed in a decorative box, gift wrapped and include info on the history and how to assemble your sundial.

If you’d like to send a gift directly to the recipient, simply use your address as the bill to and the recipient’s name and address in the ship to. If there is a problem and you need to make an address change, please call 608/478-0026 or email 

We also offer free personalized notes. During the checkout process you'll be given the opportunity to include a note or special instructions.

Payment: We accept all major credit cards as well as Paypal, checks and money orders. Your credit card receipt will read Nomadic Grill, Inc. which is our corporate name.

Backorders? Our products are usually always in stock. If an ordered item is out of stock, we’ll let you know immediately with an appox ship date. You’ll of course have the option of either waiting for the product or canceling.

International Orders:

If you live outside of the US, we'll ship any flat/horizontal sundial* for a $25.00 shipping fee. This includes Canada, Mexico, Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and South America (190 countries available). The shipping cost will be added on at checkout.

Attn: Southern Hemisphere customers. Our sundials are designed for the Northern Hemisphere and will not tell time in the S.H. They'll still be a beautiful piece of garden deco, but if you live in the S.H., don't keep your appointments by our sundials. 

*We're unable to offer this deal on armillary dials, spheres and pedestal bases due to the large dimensions and heavy weights of these items. We can still ship these items internationally but we'll have to get you a freight quote first for your approval. Please send us an email at for freight quotes.

What About Hawaii, Alaska & Puerto Rico?
Free shipping for all flat/horizontal sundials to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. We cannot offer free shipping on armillary dials, spheres and pedestals. Please contact us at for a freight quote

Returns:  Garden Sundials guarantees your complete satisfaction. Within 30 days of receipt you may return any item for credit. Please email us at or call 608/628-2978 to begin the returns procedure. For non-defective returns you must pay for shipping back to Garden Sundials. We may (upon your request) arrange a UPS call tag to pick up your non-defective return, however we will charge the UPS call tag fee & freight cost.

Damage Claims:  Please report products damaged in shipping as soon as possible. In some situations we can resolve by sending replacement parts to you or we may need to send you a complete replacement. Please email with details and if possible include a digital photo of the broken item. You may also call 608/628-2978. We may or may not require the defective piece be sent back to us. If we do need it back, we will pay for the freight.
