Weathered Sundial

Wondering what the patina of a solid brass sundial from Rome looks like after 15 years in the sun, snow & rain? This Sunrise ~ Sunset sundial was set outside in the late 1990s and the photo was taken yesterday. We love how the faux finish is naturally replaced with a verdigris patina.
I just finished radnieg all your clock posts… they are just terrific learning activities; thank you so much for sharing! Matthew (who is just 3) is really interested in clocks lately and although I’m sure a lot of this is over his head, I’m going to do some of these things with him just for fun. He will love it all, especially this water clock!
